“Long God yumi stanap” — “In front of God we stand”
The Society Saint Pius X visits twice a year the village of Vunapisu in the South of Espiritu Santo Island, one of the many islands of Vanuatu Republic in the South Pacific.
A poor and isolated place of the world some ten years ago, thanks to an invitation for a priest to take his holiday nearby, the hand of Providence can be clearly seen. Thanks to the help of the benefactors and the generosity of volunteers who accompany the priest to support him in the teaching of catechism, the construction of the mission and the care of the sick, dozens have been Baptized and given their First Communion, several couples have had their marriages blessed, many sick given the Sacraments, and even a pagan witch doctor in a neighboring villiage has converted on her death bed. Medical missions have helped care for coutless souls as well.
The mission and the approximately hundred or more souls that receive the care of the priest can only continue with your generous support, both monitarily and with the help of lay missionary helpers willing to assist the priests in this great task.
To volunteer for a trip to the mission contact the priest in charge of the mission Fr Benoît Martin de Clausonne.
